The Mylene Sheath is an independent record label, founded by Joel Proper and Lindsay Palmer. The label originated in 2007 in Covington, Kentucky and recently relocated to Athens, Georgia. They have a strong focus on vinyl and overall quality in the packaging of their releases.
The first release The Mylene Sheath put out was the If These Trees Could Talk debut record.
Some of the bands signed to the label include Caspian, Gifts From Enola, Beneath Oblivion, and Giants.
The label recently signed the post-rock super-group Lavina, which contains current and former members of prominent post-rock bands such as Caspian, On Fire and The Burning Paris. The debut EP from Lavina, titled 'There is Light Between Us' was released on November 2010 on CD, 12" Vinyl and digital download.
